Meet the Makers Winter Fair 2008

Why not visit Llandeilo for the last day of this year’s Festival of Senses.
Things to do on Saturday 22nd November include: a visit to “The Best of Carmarthenshire” food market situated throughout the town, cookery demonstrations at the Cawdor’s courtyard, Christmas gift market at The Castle Hotel, and the Meet the Makers Christmas Fair at the Civic Hall.
Carmarthenshire makers including Waun Hir Pottery will be selling their wares.

Christmas Festival of Senses

This year will see Llandeilo host the second annual Festival of Senses.
The 5 day event includes a Mini Ceramica festival on Tuesday 18th. Waun Hir Pottery along with several other potters will be selling its wares and there will also be pottery making in the Cawdor Courtyard.

Carreg Cennen Castle

In the Brecon Beacons National Park near Llandeilo, Carreg Cennen is one of the most spectacularly sited Welsh castles, crowning a remote crag 100 metres above the river Cennen.

At the bottom of the approach is a Café and craft shop which stocks Waun Hir Pottery’s work.

Swallows Keep Warm and Dry

Nestling high above the kiln at Waun Hir pottery, these baby swallows certainly found the best place to escape the recent cold, wet weather. The propane gas kiln reaches temperatures of 1300 degrees Celsius, which means the birds must have had the cosiest nest around.

Ceramics in the City 2007

Waun Hir Pottery will be once again showing its wares this Autumn in the Geffrye Museum. Less than a mile from the first pottery workshop in Hoxton Square, London.
Now in its sixth year Ceramics in the City showcases the work of 45 selected ceramicists. Offering visitors the chance to buy, chat to makers and watch demonstrations.
